Hi Daysy Film & Photo readers! Today we are talking about a romantic and spicy couple: Betty and Jon.
Their engagement session was shot in in Baltimore Downtown, check it out: We walked around Federal Hill, Baltimore to start the day, and moved into the RA Sushi Bar Restaurant where they treated my assistant Maira and I some yummy lunch as we waited for the tower scheduled time to get in. YUMMY! It was just perfect, we took some cute pictures at this cozy restaurant, that they used to go while they lived close by (a perfect date, I would say!). And to close the day, we finished at the amazing historic and rustic Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower, in Baltimore.
What a lovely couple and it is amazing when we are able to create this connection with the couples that go beyond the photos.
The fun part is that 2018 wedding season is going to be over this weekend with 2 amazing weddings on the flow… And Betty & Jon will actually OPEN the 2019 season and I couldn’t be happier to see them again soon! They are planning their wedding at the Baltimore Museum of Industry (I personally love the tower photos, it will be a perfect match for their venue style!).
We are looking forward to seeing this cute couples tying the knot. Keep scrolling and check Betty and Jon engagement session followed by their interview and Save the Date video!!
Xoxo, Daysy

How did you find out about us?

We found out about you at Patrick and Michelle Nyharts wedding. You were the photographer and Jon was a groomsman. (I absolutely LOVE when things like this happen, it gives an even greater sense of a big family when photographing friends of friends!!! ~ Daysy)

How did you meet?

We met at work, I defended her Pikachu from being stolen. It was a hot commodity and people liked to take it and hide it on her.

Jon, when you saw her, SHE seemed…

Beautiful, I literally walked into a wall.

Betty, when you saw him, HE seemed…

Intense (he was in the dark office room with a serious expression staring at the monitor lol).

Where did you go for your 1st date?

We went to California pizza kitchen for dinner after work on a Friday. We discovered we both loved the Korean bakery Shilla. I sold her on dessert and we drove out to Shilla bakery in Ellicott City for bubble tea. We then drove back to hunt valley to her car where we walked around the shopping center for an hour just talking.

Betty, how did he propose? Can you describe that moment?

He tricked me into thinking that we were going to take a picture on this beautiful bridge at Tokyo DisneySea Venice replica. While I was looking for the perfect angle, he got down on one knee and pop the question. It took me a few seconds to realize what was happening. I believe the first thing I said to him was “How did you get that here?” and I think “Yes” at some point lol. It was totally unexpected.  Because we both love Disney and it was our first international trip together, it was very meaningful.

He told me later that he had planned to take me on the gondola ride and propose to me there. Unfortunately, due to the weather, it was closed down early. With a quick change of plan and the handy dandy Google Translate, he asks the worker in the area for permission to be in the area. I thought that he was asking the worker for direction haha.

What are some common hobbies/interests that the two of you share?

As I read this, she yells Battlefield. Aka video games. We love food, we love traveling when combined we’re at our best.

We’re going back to Japan

How do you imagine yourselves as a couple from now to 5 years?

She just yelled fat… haha. Hopefully, our wanderlust will keep taking us around the world. Happy and forever exploring new places.

What caught your eyes about our work?

Daisy’s professionalism.

Describe 3 things that you absolutely love about HER

Her smile, her smile, did I mention her smile? Her laugh, I love making her laugh. Just to hear it you can’t help but laugh too. I love how she makes me feel about myself.

Describe 3 things that you absolutely love about HIM

The way he looks at me with his pretty blue eyes. The way he makes me laugh.  The way he treats those that he loves.

Describe what you must absolutely have in common?

She said food, I’d agree haha.

Any special song?

One is the loneliest number, no idea why. We just sing parts together jokingly.

Describe your relationship in two words:

Hot n’ spicy.

What made this video shoot so special to you two?

Something to remember when we’re old and sad she said, haha. Yeah, I’d say proof we were cute once and we can show the kids it’s all their fault we got old and ugly.
