This special engagement session gave Shannon and Ian the opportunity to go back to the neighborhood where they first met, Federal Hill. Specifically at the house that both of them were introduced to one another by Ian’s cousin.
What a wonderful choice they made on choosing this location to remind themselves where it all began. These memories bring back the feeling of living all those emotions and sensations from the beginning of their relationship.
Check out the highlights of Erin and Ian engagement session, along with their interview.
And we are so excited for their 2019 wedding, at the Vineyards of Mary’s Meadow!!!
How did you meet?
Ian’s cousin and his wife introduced us and invited me to Ian’s birthday party at his house in Federal Hill! (The one we took a pic in front of) We haven’t been apart since!
Where did you go for your 1st date?
Blue Hill Tavern in Canton.
How did he propose? Can you describe that moment?
Ian and I were on vacation in Ocean City with our families. My mom and I would take a walk with the dogs every morning and Ian coordinated with my mom and his parents to meet me on my walk that morning in Northside Park and propose on the pier. I don’t know how he pulled it off because he had already been sitting on the pier when I decided to randomly take a walk down the pier that morning (with no coaching from my mom) so it was perfect! I even turned to my mom and said “hey! Look doesn’t that guy look like Ian”, only to my surprise it was him! He got up grabbed my hands, got on one knee and asked me to marry him! Of course, I said yes!
What are some common interests that the two of you share?
We love to be outside with our dogs, cycling on the NCR trail, traveling wherever we can, we love trying new restaurants and new foods, and we love just sitting together at a coffee shop!
Are you planning to honeymoon? If yes, where do you have plans to go to?
We are in the middle of honeymoon planning. We are looking to go to an all-inclusive resort in St Lucia!
How do you imagine yourselves as a couple from now to 5 years?
Honestly, we see ourselves with at least one child, perhaps another dog, and in the home, we want to raise a family in! We see ourselves still being pretty active and always looking for new things to get involved in!
Are on your plans having children?
Yes, we would love to have children after the wedding!
Describe 3 things that you absolutely love about HER.
Her soul, her kind heart and that she’s my best friend.
Describe 3 things that you absolutely love about HIM.
He is so patient, and thoughtful. He has a great sense of humor and always makes me laugh (even when I want to be mad), and I love that he’s always down for an adventure.
Describe what you have in common?
We both have the same sense of humor! And we both love food- we are definitely “foodies”.
(we got to hang out a little at Koba Cafe, a place where Shannon and Ian love to hang out at!)
Any special song?
History in the Making by Darius Rucker.
Describe your relationship in two words:
Best friends.
What made this photo shoot so special to you two?
I think that it was very special to us to be able to do this photo shoot in the neighborhood where we first met and at all the special places where our relationship grew! We also really loved that we could share that experience with our parents!
What was your favorite part of the photo shoot?
The guy running in his boxers was definitely a favorite! LOL
I think that being in front of the house where we very first met and being at the cafe where we spent the majority of our weekends and week mornings was our favorite part!
PS.: Shannon and Ian also brought their parents, to the session. This was the first time I’ve got to shoot with parents around, and I have to say: it was so FUN!!!!! 🙂
