Cunningham Falls State Park is the gorgeous location Yolanda and Moises picked to have their engagement session shot. And it came handy, because they are getting married by the water in Annapolis in a few days (I can’t express how excited I feel about it!!!)
Yolanda has 2 kids from a previous marriage, Lucas & Mateo and they joined us for their session as well (I have to mention they did GREAT!). They make a beautiful family now, and it will only feel better once they are in the aisle about to be pronounced husband and wife.
Please check their interview below and make sure to watch their Highlights Movie 🙂

Daysy: How did you meet?
Yolanda&Moises: We met in Bethesda while I was out with my girlfriends. I saw the back of him mentioned something about him to my friend, when she looked she was in shock because at that time Moises was her roommate. She took me over to meet him, when he turned around I was in love!! “ I said to myself, what a beautiful man” – it was all history from that night forward, we were inseparable. On the third day after we met, he gave me a dozen red roses, and he continued to give me red roses ever since. I would often tell him that one day I would marry him!! Therefore the theme for our wedding is a red rose theme.
Daysy: Where did you go for your 1st date?
Yolanda&Moises: We went to DC to dance – it wasn’t really a date because we connected so well the first night, that the second night was all about fun!
Daysy: How did he/she propose? Can you describe that moment?
Yolanda: We had a few rough patches along the way..one day we were talking about us..he got up went to the restroom, when he came out, he said: “are you ready to marry me?” – I almost fell off the bed at that moment – in complete shock. I always told him that I would marry him in a flash – and….that is what we did. He asked on March 1st, 2015 and March 18th we went to the courthouse.
Daysy: Any funny stories to share about your fiance?
Yolanda: When I first met Moises, I would get lost looking at him because I find him so gorgeous – one day I was looking at the Superman movie and I said “ Oh my gosh, Moises looks just like Christopher Reeve (the original Superman) from that moment on, he was my superman and all my friends would call him superman. We even dressed as Superman & Wonderwoman for our 1st Halloween.
Daysy: Moises, is that any special “boys only” activities that you do with Mateo and Lucas?
Moises: Play video games, talk about cars. Play in the snow – watch the boys play at their soccer and football games
Daysy: Any special song?
Yolanda: Hummmm…2 songs describes how I feel about Moises: From this moment (by Shania Twain) in Portuguese is the best and explains exactly how I feel. The second song is all about the timing and how things happens at the right time – I met Moises when I least expected and when I wasn’t looking for a relationship so Bendita tu Luz (by Mana) is the perfect song for that reason.
Daysy: Are you planning to honeymoon? If yes, where do you have plans to go to?
Yolanda&Moises: Our honeymoon will be planned sometime next year. We have our whole lives to plan it now
Daysy: Yolanda, describe something that you absolutely love about Moises
Yolanda: I love his smile and how kind he is to everyone – he is a very considerate man.
Daysy: Moises, describe something that you absolutely love about Yolanda
Moises: I love how she is caring, strong and with strong family values. She is hard working and overall a good hearted person.
Daysy: How do you imagine yourselves as a couple from now to 5 years?
Yolanda&Moises: We spend so much time worrying about the future that sometimes we forget to think about the NOW – I hope that in 5 years our marriage is stronger than today and that we grow together as the years pass with more love, respect and patience.
Daysy: Describe your relationship in two words:
Yolanda: patient and kind
Moises: love and strong
