Natalie and Sean are the most down to earth couple I have ever met. They are fun, caring and they can talk about anything with you. It was so nice to be part of their day and witness so much love within their loved ones and between this beautiful couple. They have chosen the Antrim 1844 Inn, under their Oak Tree to get married, and it was so special. Check below interview, so you can have an insight on their planning experience, and also, if you want to remember their engagement love story, check this link out.

Top 3 planning tips for future couples:

  • Make sure multiple people know how to bustle your dress
  • Create a pinterest board to help collect ideas and narrow down what you like
  • Don’t be afraid to say no to ideas that don’t fit your theme or personality as a couple

Based on our wedding planning experiences, what advice would you give people who are still planning their wedding?

Make a spreadsheet that includes vendors, payments, and you’re overall budget to help keep you on time and in budget. Have fun tapping into your creative side!

Did you have a first look before the ceremony? If yes, how can you describe that moment?

Yes. Before the big reveal we were nervous but excited. Once Sean opened his eyes, it was a whirlwind of emotions, but mainly we admired how beautiful or handsome the other looked.

What adjective best describes your spouse on your wedding day?

Sean was quite the charming, yet dapper fella.
Natalie was beautifully composed.

Describe any personal or special touches that helped make Your Wedding Memorable.:

My sister and Maid of Honor, Nicole, gave me a locket that held a picture of my dad which wrapped around my bouquet. Even though he couldn’t be physically with us that day, I knew he was there in spirit.

Our officiant was our dear friend, Stacey Sharpe; and a huge shout out to my girl Laura Watson for the gorgeous signs!!

What was the most difficult detail of your wedding to agree upon?

The guys attire….it was the one thing I had no control over 😁

How would you describe the style of your wedding?

Elegant boho

What moment of your wedding day did you get anxious the most?

Before I walked down the aisle, we were all lined up behind the bushes. Standing there waiting for my turn was nerve wracking!

Who decided on the wedding song for walking down the aisle and why?

Israel Kamakawiwo’ole’s “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” This song has always resonated with us a couple, so it was an easy choice when I decided to walk down the aisle to a very non traditional song.

What was your color palette and wedding style? What inspired it? Tell us about the flowers, stationery and decor you chose

Color palette: plum, lavender, chartreuse and white, which was inspired by our two favorite color combinations: purple and green. We chose various shades of these colors to match our Boho style wedding.

Flowers: succulents, amnesia roses, ivory, dusty willow, scabiosa pods, eucalyptus and much more! Inspired by our love of succulents and matched to our color palette.

Tell us about your cocktail hour and reception!

Cocktail Hour: chicken and waffles, roasted duck with orange marmalade on a toast piece, mini crab cakes, and rockfish tacos with chipotle sauce and a slaw topping
Dinner: Appetizer: strawberry salad with blue cheese, glazed pecans and lemon poppy seed vinaigrette.
Entree: choice of ribeye or chicken with a white wine demi glaze, sweet potatoe, white potatoe with cheese casserole, vegetable medley.
Dessert: full ice cream bar. Wedding cake: vanilla with raspberry filling, chocolate with ganache. Top tier: bahama breeze with strawberry filling.

What was the most fun detail of your wedding to plan?

The reception. From creating the card box, determining wording for signs, designing the escort cards, or selecting the uplighting colors it was fun brainstorming, and finalizing ideas. Of course, seeing it all together in the end just made it all worthwhile.

The Best Thing about the day:

The reception/ after-party. We finally had the chance to relax and fully enjoy ourselves without being swept off for another activity.

What is the worst thing that happened on your wedding day, and the best thing that happened?

Worst moment was the bustle debacle of 2019, but we improvised, adapted and overcame.
Best moment: standing under the oak tree, with hanging flowers and candles, marrying my best friend

Which element(s) of your day best reflected you as a couple? What did you do to make guests feel special?

Getting married under the oak tree surrounded my gorgeous flowers hanging from the branches symbolize our love of nature, and appreciation for mother earth. To make our guests feel special and show off Natalie’s love of ice cream, we had a full-service sundae bar, complete with toppings.

Who caught the bridal bouquet?

My little sister, and bridesmaid Nadia.

After the day has passed, would you have anything you have done differently?

Not really. I felt our wedding was a true reflection of us as a couple…from the decor to our vows, and the family and friends that came to show their love and support for us.

What are your honeymoon plans?

We took a Southwest Road Trip: 4 States, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Nevada. Visited 3 National Park: Colorado National monument, Arches, Grand Canyon. Drove over 1000 miles while driving through Monument Valley, and stopping at Forest Gump Lookout. Finally ending in Las Vegas!!

How did you feel when the wedding planning was all over?

Relieved!! It was amazing seeing our vision come to life, and knowing all the hard work truly paid off!
