These two amazing souls tie the knot in a memorable and unique way at the Bavarian Inn, Shepherdstown WV. This couple shares so much love and positivity that contagious all around them. Everything with the Potomac River in their surroundings to make every single moment of this union special and romantic the way it should be. Also, they chose Austin chose Jessica’s dad to be his best man and Jess’s mom to be her maid of honor. I will be honest, this was the first time I have witnessed these choices. It is so wonderful to see how close they are!

Jessica: Walking down the aisle. | Austin: Saying the vows.

Based on our wedding planning experiences, what advice would you give people who are still planning their wedding?

Don’t wait until last minute.

Jessica’s answer: Emotional

Austin’s answer: Happy

How would you describe the style of your wedding?

Rustic elegance.

Where did you have your wedding? Why did you choose the location?

Bavarian Inn because of the view and the food.

Describe any personal or special touches that helped make your wedding memorable:

Our friends and family being there, the staff at the Inn, and the view.



What was your color palette and wedding style?

Our colors were neutral/earthy tones.  The flowers were white with a pop of color on the men and the stationary matched the cake; a birch bark style. Our decor was very simple and outdoorsy; centerpieces were firefly lights inside clear bottles on wooden plates, surrounded by pine leaves and pine cones.

Which element(s) of your day best reflect you as a couple? What did you do to make guests feel special?

The centerpieces, the menu/cake, and the music. To make guests feel special, our party favors wereDIY mores kits and we let them take home centerpieces if they wanted.

Tell us about your cocktail hour and reception! What was on the menu? Did you have any special entertainment?

Our cocktail hour consisted of drinks at the bar with veggies and cheese. Our reception consisted of the traditional dances, cake cutting, bouquet, and garter toss. On the menu were a salad, mashed potatoes, green beans, crab cakes, filet mignon, and cake dessert. Our entertainment was a DJ.


What is the worst thing that happened on your wedding day, and the best thing that happened?

Jessica’s worst: Had a migraine during the reception.

Austin’s worst: Didn’t get to eat cake.


What are your honeymoon plans?

Disney World in February during Valentines Day!
